Professor Jincheol Kim, the CEO of JAN 153 Biotech, has been conducting research on biopesticide development for over 25 years since his tenure at the Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology in July 1996. During this time, he has transferred 17 technologies to companies, developed 12 products, and is currently working on developing several more.

While traditional biopesticide companies mainly focus their R&D and commercialization efforts on crops, JAN 153 Biotech aims to develop biopesticides in the field of Environmental Science, concentrating on areas that existing companies find challenging, such as trees (street trees, forests, parks) and turf (golf courses, gardens, parks, sports fields).
