JAN 153 Biotech is a specialized company in biological pesticides, developing technologies that manage pests and diseases in crops, trees, and turf in an eco-central manner, utilizing microorganisms and plant extracts. We are a university venture company based at Chonnam National University.

As the CEO, with decades of field experience and expertise, I have developed various biological control technologies and numerous biopesticide products through corporate transfer. However, due to various limitations, it has been challenging to introduce these developed products to the global market. This motivated me to establish a company focused on developing biopesticides aimed at entering the global market.

Our company is currently developing a technology to control pine wilt disease, one of the most difficult-to-treat diseases, using aerial spraying that is completely harmless to the environment. We are also developing microbial products that effectively control various fungal diseases affecting turf and ginseng, as well as Bt insecticide products that exhibit strong activity against a wide range of caterpillar species.

Our company is an investee of Korea Technology Finance Corporation (KIBO), a technology evaluation guarantee company, and a certified venture company. We are also participating in product development and registration through the preliminary startup package supported by the Gwangju Center for Creative Economy & Innovation and the support program by the Jeongeup Agro-Bio Industry Development Support Center.

Furthermore, we have been selected as a candidate for Blue Point Partners and GS's ‘The GS Challenge’ program, receiving business verification and securing the ‘Daejeon Regulation-Free Special Zone Blue Point Investment Fund’ with GS Group as a strategic investor (SI). Additionally, we are designated under the TIPS program, pushing forward with scale-up for full-fledged commercialization.
